Jiangnan University, situated in the beautiful city of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, is one of China’s national key “211 Project” universities and functions directly under China’s Ministry of Education. The newly completed university campus covers 208 hectares with floor space of 1 million M². It is located by Lake Tai, a national scenic resort in the south of Wuxi. It was designed and built to demonstrate the concept of an “Eco-campus”, landscaped with beautiful greens, elegant gardens, unique bridges and tranquil streams. This year’s DeSForM conference is organized by the School of Digital Media of Jiangnan Unviersity. ” Based on the previous Department of Animation in the School of Design and the former Department of Digital Media Technology in the School of Information Technology, the School of Digital Media was established in 2009 so as to absorb talents with high academic attainments in the field of digital media at home and abroad, promote the integration of our university’s rapid development with the local social and economic development and meet the strong demand of the increasingly rapid development of digital media industry for high-level design and technical personnel. The school consists of the Digital Arts Department, the Digital Media Technology Department and the Experiment Center. The Experiment Center includes the Digital Virtual Laboratory, the Digital Imaging Laboratory and The Digital Interactive Technology Laboratory. Now, it has two undergraduate programs, i.e. Animation (Art, the national characteristic specialty) and Digital Media Technology (Engineering). It has two master’s programs in Art of Design and Computer Science and Technology.”
